View embedded application updates

Unisphere supports the display of embedded application updates.

Prerequisites

A Secure Remote Services (SRS) gateway has already been registered in Unisphere.
Embedded applications are installed on the storage system.

See Understanding serviceability for an overview of the Unisphere for PowerMax Serviceability functionality.

Select the storage system.
Select Serviceability > Updates.
The Updates window displays. If Secure Remote Services (SRS) is not configured select Configure SRS and see Secure Remote Services gateway registration.
Select Check For Updates.
The available updates with the following properties display for the individual package:
- Version
- Description
- Release Date
- Status
  Status types include:
  - Available to download
  - Download in progress
  - Available to install
  - Deletion in progress
  - Update In progress
Select Download to download the selected update package.
- The status Download in progress is displayed and updates to Available to install once the download is completed.
- If a previous update is still in progress, an update in progress message is displayed and all the options are disabled.
- If a package download fails, a failure message is displayed and the status Available to download is displayed.
Select Pre-Update Health Check to run a health check against a package. This option is available once a package is downloaded.
Click and select Health Check Result to view the results.
Select Install Update to install the package.
An information message is displayed, select Install to continue. The status Update in progress is displayed. Click and select Installation Progress Details to view the progress.
Select Delete, this changes the downloaded package status from Available to install to Available to download.
